About Skyline at Marcella Club near Park City, Utah
Skyline is the first mountain course Tiger Woods has built, designed with Beau Welling for the private Marcella Club on Jordanelle Ridge, east of Park City and above the reservoir. It opened to members on 1 July 2026.
The number that gets the attention is 8,064 yards from the tips, which puts it among the longest courses in the country. At this elevation that plays a good deal shorter than it reads, and the card is not really the point. The routing is. TGR Design ran the holes along the ridgelines and then dropped them into the valleys between, so the enormous views and the enclosed, quieter holes alternate instead of blurring into one another.
Eight thousand yards at altitude is a headline, not a golf course. What Skyline actually gives you is contrast — ridge, valley, ridge — hole after hole.
— The Park City Golf AuthorityThe design brief shows in the details: generous landing areas, greens that change size and contour to reward the right angle off the tee, and surrounds mown tight so a miss leaves you a decision rather than a hack-out. It was never meant to host a PGA Tour event. It was meant to be a stern test from the back tees and a playable one from the front, which is a harder thing to pull off and more useful to a membership.
The views run a full 360 degrees — the Uinta Mountains, the Jordanelle Reservoir, Deer Valley, and Mount Timpanogos standing at the end of the Heber Valley. On the right evening it is as much scenery as any course in the state can offer.
What Stands Out
Worth being straight about the timing: 2026 is a preview season. The course is open and members are playing it, but the amenities around it are temporary while the rest of the club gets built, and the full opening is aimed at 2027. Ambush, the second eighteen from King Collins Dormer, is under construction on the same ridge.
Membership at Marcella comes with real estate rather than separately, so this is not a course most people will talk their way onto. If you get the chance, take it.
