About Victory Ranch Golf Club near Park City, Utah

Victory Ranch is a private, Rees Jones course on a plateau above the Upper Provo River, out past Park City toward Kamas. Golf Digest has it #2 in Utah, and the setting alone — mid- and long-range views of the Wasatch and Uinta ranges, Deer Valley, and the Jordanelle — tells you why.

Big-shouldered Rees Jones design — all out in front of you, no blind shots, greens that move but stay playable. The kind of course you finish and want to play again the next morning. — The Park City Golf Authority

The land does a lot of the work here. Jones routed the holes through wide, rolling ground separated by blowing fescue, and the closing stretch is the headline — the finish along the ridgeline above the Jordanelle is as dramatic a trio as the state has. No. 16, a cliffhanging uphill par 5 to a stair-stepped green, is reason enough to make the drive. The par-3 17th plays over an old rock quarry, with as many as 14 tee boxes to change the angle and distance with the wind. Not contrived — just a big piece of ground used well.

Fly-fishing the Upper Provo at the gate

Midsummer highs reach into the 80s, the days run long, and the wide-open setting — plus world-class fly-fishing on the Upper Provo right outside the gates — makes it the kind of place that's hard to leave. For a course this highly ranked, it stays genuinely fun to play.
